Patient Participation Group
The patient participation group is made up of a diverse group of patients registered at the surgery. Bridge Street Surgery has a well established and valued patient participation group who meets quarterly within the practice to discuss improvements and ideas with the practice PPG team, led by the practice administrator and supported by the practice manager.
The group discusses items of mutual interest to the practice and patients and maintains a positive, effective link between the practice and its patients, ensuring the practice remains accountable and responsive to patient needs. Previous issues discussed have been appointments and abuse of staff.
The aim of the PPG is to liaise with patients and practice staff in all aspects of healthcare.
“Your surgery, your voice!”
Our active PPG
The PPG along with the surgery puts on a Health Roadshow every year to bring information and awareness to our patients and the wider public about the wonderful support organisations within the area and allows us as a local GP practice to fundraise for new medical equipment.
Over the past three years, these events have raised a whopping £1249.36. This has allowed the surgery to purchase a hearing loop for our hard of hearing patients and an adjustable nurse’s couch.
“The PPG exists as a conduit between us as patients and the surgery; we welcome any input from you (patients) so that we can improve the service we give. Fortunately we are blessed with an excellent staff and doctors at this practice so it makes our job straight forward, we take your input via the suggestion box very seriously and will do our best to accommodate you.
We hope this gives you a reasonable overview; we are always looking for additional members, so please feel free to join us, just ask at reception for more information.” – Colin (PPG Member)
